Why can't we just all get along?

Welcome to Lent.

I have done a fair bit of reading and studying about sexism, feminism, etc.  In my not-so-humble opinion, many people are trapped in the basic dualistic thinking that so pervades our society (and church).

My reading about the Trinity, coupled with a very active three-dimensional spatial imagination,  suggests a way out of this dualism. It supersedes the dualism implicit in the  two seemingly irreconcilable choices currently offered -- "equality" and "complementarity" (cf. "The church women want" ed. Elizabeth Johnson, Herder and Herder, 2002).

My thesis is to a) completely divorce descriptions of behavior, thinking, feeling, etc. from biological reality; and b) use a multi-dimensional model to reflect the complexity of human behavior and interaction.

Welcome

Welcome to this chance to share my thoughts and reflections on a variety of topics. The connecting thread between them is my awareness of what the challenges of the next two human generations will be. While I love reading history, the two overwhelming impressions I have are these: advances in technology and thought have brought about amazing changes in the world; we have opportunities never before dreamed of. The second thought is: the human race has changed VERY little -- from the days of the Civil War, of the Reformation, the Roman Empire, the Babylonian empire, etc. -- human nature remains the same. Though we have marvelous opportunities, we are amazingly unwilling to use them. People prefer to live in the past.

So I'd like to share some of my thoughts about the future.
